Had a pleasant day today, cruising around the hinterland.  Shortly after leaving Maleny (where we stopped for morning tea) I briefly saw views the same as those shown below of the Glasshouse Mountains – always stunningly surreal.  We then headed to Kenilworth via the Postman’s Track. The views and countryside were lovely.  We got a bit of local history from one of the residents on the bus, who grew up in this area.  His grandfather lived in Kenilworth and the Postman’s Track was the horse trail used to get to Kenilworth.  He also plays bowls, so is someone I know quite well.  Last week I got eggplants “from the farm” because he found out that I liked them (who wouldn’t want to live here!).  We had lunch at a local cafe in Kenilworth – the best chicken/avocado/lettuce sandwiches I’ve had – maybe ever!  One of the ladies led us to a very interesting shop.  Gorgeous clothes, hats, jewellery (OK, I got some earrings – the ladies have come to expect it – I don’t want to disappoint).  There was a sign that said “if money doesn’t buy you happiness, you are in the wrong shop”.  Though I spent relatively little, I left Kenilworth pretty happy.
